Essential Tips to Maximize Your Wedding Show/Expo Experience

Recently Engaged and Heading to a Wedding Show/Expo?

Don't be overwhelmed and get the most out of your show experience!

1. Create a Wedding-Exclusive Email

Post-show, your inbox will be buzzing! Separate from your daily emails from your wedding emails. Then once your big day has passed, you can simply close the account.

2. Bring a Sharpie for Notes

Jotting notes directly on brochures or business cards from vendors will remind you what stood out about each vendor as the conversations blur together.

3. Double Bag Strategy

Carry two bags. One for the vendors you're seriously considering ("the contenders") and another for general information ("the explorers"). This will make post-show sorting a breeze.

4. All Professionals Are Not Created Equal-Do Your Homework

Having a booth at a show does not qualify the vendor as quality.

  • Ask detailed questions. Ask how not if. For example, "How do you direct us", not "Do you direct us"
  • Starting price is not what you will pay. Ask for most the most popular package or what most couple's spend.
  • Ensure the key vendors at your wedding have a track record of reviews and success. Google them! Use the Knot or other wedding websites.

5. Do Pre Show Research-Eliminate Dealbrakers

Before stepping into the show, take some time to research the attending vendors.

  • Check out their social media and websites to ensure they match your vibe & style.
  • Check their website for pricing to ensure they are in budget.

Use the show for face to face connections to see who you trust with your big day.

The True Value of a Wedding Show

A wedding show isn't for ticking boxes or gathering prices – it's a chance for a one stop face to face with many vendors all in one stop. Establish connections and see if you can imagine them being a part of your special day.
