You've been to the show, grabbed all the literature, and are getting our emails. Wondering what's next? Here’s how to pick vendors who’ll make your wedding day a dream, not a drama:
Social Media is your last stop, not first: Searching social media will leave you overwhelmed with unqualified vendors and have a difficult vetting process. Start with Google, The Knot, Zola, Wedding Wire etc. Once you have some favorites, look those vendors up on social media to get a sense of their style and voice.
Search Them Up: Their website and Google business page should pop up first. It’s a sign of reliabillity and legitimacy.
Read Reviews: See if the reviews sound like you want to feel.
Investigate Longevity: Their oldest review will give an honest answer of how long they’ve been in business, 3-5 years, minimum. Your wedding may be a year or two from now. You want to know that vendor will still be committed to your wedding.
Review Responses: Their interaction shows how they’ll treat you.
Ask for Recommendations: Ask vendors you already trust. They will recommend team players who will work well together making your day seamless.
Go Beyond Yes or No: Ask how they plan to handle your needs to get a sense of how they guide you.
Prioritize: Most people can’t pay top dollar for all vendors. Focus on your priorities for your vision and those who have the most interaction with you on your day, (DJ, Photographer, Video, Venue).
