One of the great things about being a wedding photographer is that every weekend is different. Last weekend I had to big weddings with big wedding parties. It was a blast but totally different from this weekend. I had a smaller group that was super laid back and a pleasure to be around. I was able to kick back a little and didn't have to take charge as much as usual. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem telling people what to do! Adam and Megan had no wedding party except for their daughter Emma the flower girl. So we spent about an hour riding around Shaker Run with just the 4 of my crew and the two of them! I truly enjoyed that. Afterward, the outdoor wedding ceremony was performed by Megan's brother in law Bryce. From there, it was off to see Steve Bender at the wedding reception. Steve was his usual classy, charismatic self. Everyone had a great time and is hopefully safely getting home right about now. It was a beautiful day and a fun evening. Thanks for letting me be a part of it!
On a more somber note, this was my first wedding at Shaker Run since Julie Gutzwiller passed away from cancer. I know Adam and Megan didn't know her well but I know the Shaker Run family and the entire wedding community misses her as I do. I can't tell you how many times I took a photo and thought about how much I wanted to show her. She will be missed.
