If you are on our blog and do not know Jennifer and Roy there are some things you need to know about them. In addition to being beautiful people, the extent to which the care about everyone in their lives and appreciate them goes beyond what most people are familiar with. I was fortunate to experience that in its full effect Sunday night July 28th on what was nothing short of a perfect day. From the emotions, to the non humid, 75 degree, partly cloudy end of July day to the ice cream truck that showed up during photos and in general everything that happened. I have to say, nobody deserved it more than these two and their friends and family.
I think the most striking aspect of their day was the intense feeling of Love, Joy and Fun I noticed from the moment I walked in to get the ladies getting ready, to Roy’s gifts/flowers, to the relationships with friends and family and especially at the reception. I could not have met a more genuine group of people. Sometimes I have to step back and realize how lucky I am in my career. I am the only person in the entire wedding who had the opportunity right before they saw each other for the first time to look into each of their eyes and see the genuine and unconditional love each of them felt. Both were well aware and ready for the gravity of that moment and couldn’t wait to share it with each other. It's the little things in life we must appreciate.
There are a few people besides our bride and groom who I must mention. First is Jean Roberts, who for anyone who lives in a hole is the amazingly talented French Chef from Jean Roberts Table on 7th and vine downtown. Roy is a chef at the restaurant and wanted to go there for a few photos with his guys. Upon arrival Jean Robert is there not only letting us use his restaurant for photos but with a nice bottle of champagne opened not only for the couple but also for the wedding party. As he brought this out to the wedding party I realized his attention to detail and desire to make everyone welcome as he had a glass for me and each of my staff as well. By the way, DELICIOUS!! From there I must skip forward to the reception where he and his wife were dancing machines and closed the place down!
Speaking of the reception, there was a band there you may have heard of, the Naked Karate Girls. I have to say, I am more impressed every time I work with them. They were the perfect band for this wedding and frankly for most weddings. I could go on and on about their professionalism and the level of entertainment and talent. They were amazing.
Lastly I just want to thank everyone I was in contact with that day. Our beautiful couple, Jean Roberts, Annette and the staff from the Hilton, Glen and the guys from the band, Patrick with Say Cheese Photo Booths, the wedding party and for the best roast I've ever heard at a wedding. Roy and Jen, nobody deserved this day more than you two. Thanks for having me along.
